A letter from Lou

Before meeting Steve Travis, I had studied guitar on and off for a number of years.  Regardless of how much I practiced, I never seemed to improve.  I never felt confident, and I certainly would never have called myself a musician.  Although I was determined, hard worker, I felt like a stiff musically.  So I gave up on the guitar.

Later, I became interested in playing conga drums, and at my wife's urging called Steve about instruction.  I was skeptical at first, because he was my wife's keyboard instructor, and though she continually sang his praises, I couldn't imagine that he could teach a second instrument as well.

How wrong I was!

After only six months of study, I began playing in jam sessions and at clubs, and I soon regained enough confidence to once again pick up my guitar.  Steve has been teaching me guitar skills for eighteen months now, and I can't believe the changes which have come about in my skill and understanding.  I've started playing out, writing music, and at Steve's encouragement, I've even started singing.

I can't express how much I have come to love playing music.  Practice has become a passion instead of a chore.  With Steve as a role model and mentor, as well as a caring and talented teacher, I've started to think of myself as a musician, and to really believe it.

If your goals are the same as mine, to have an opportunity to reach your potential; to gain the skill, courage and confidence to excel at music, you can't go wrong with Steve Travis. He is truly a unique individual, a terrific teacher and top-shelf human being.  If you're willing to match his intensity, he can bring you to the promised-land.

If I can be of help answering any questions, feel free to email me at lsparanges@att.net.

Sincerely

Lou Sparanges
